Ground Water Exploration by Remote Sensing Techniques
Ground water consultancy charges at the rate of Rs. 5000/- per site is charged by the Remote Sensing Cell (RSC) of the Council for identification of suitable site along with the maps based on Indian Remote Sensing Satellite data and field verification. A technical report is also submitted for the recommendation of the bore well suggesting the type of drilling machine to be deployed as per the lithology and prevailing ground conditions.

Micro Hydel Power Development-Prefeasibility Data
Consultancy services are also available for the prefeasibility reports for micro hydel and geotechnical studies. Using satellite data the first hand reports are prepared for micro hydel's catchment area for which Rs. 5,000/- per site is charged.
For detailed study which comprises thematic maps covering landuse/landcover, slope, contour, tentative discharge availability, geotechnical feasibility etc., Rs. 15,000/- are charged per site.

Roof Top Rain Harvesting

Roof top rain harvesting system collects the rain water from the roofs, in a tank which can be used for washing, irrigation and even drinking. The approximate cost(subject to vary) of construction of 5000 litres capacity storage tank of different materials presently in HP are following:

Making of the skeletal cage of rain water harvesting tank

Type of tank
Cost per litre (in Rs.)
1. Ferro Cement 2.00 to 2.50
2. Masonery 3.50 to 4.00
3. Plastic 5.50 to 6.50
4. Steel 7.50 to 8.75

The Council is currently providing technical support including design for the construction of ferrocement tanks for rain water, free of cost to popularise the technology. Training to masons/NGOs is also provided along with demonstration projects in rural areas.
