To
harness the potential of this tool, Himachal Pradesh Remote Sensing
Cell (RSC) was established in 1989 with following objectives:
- To create centralized facilities and infrastructure by obtaining
satellite data, interpretation aids and ancillary collateral data
for the use of potential users.
- To create an effective information centre based on aerospace
data encompassing different themes for the use of geographical
information system in planning process.
- To provide assistance to user agencies
and institutions in the field on Remote
Sensing inputs.
- To impart training and education in the
use of space technology and natural
resource management.
| Mapping of lineaments
morphotechtonics and their relationship with sensing in Panjab Re-seismicity
entrant Himachal Pradesh:
Using high
resolution satellite data product on 1:50,000 scale mapping of lineaments
and morphotectonic units is being carried out in the Punjab Re-entrant
part of the Lesser Himalayas. Based on the image interpretation, a
relationship will be established between lineament, morphology and
seismicity of the area. |
